You will develop and implement the automation of processes in our foundations department. This involves several technologies including Python as well as different engineering software tools and other languages.
Our Foundations > Secondary Structures department designs the non-load-bearing parts of our offshore wind turbine foundations, such as platforms, boat landings, and anti-oxidation anodes. The design process for these structures includes geometry design, calculation of wind and wave loads, and the generation of reports and drawings. This process is reaching maturity and we have initiated an effort to automate it. As software developer, you will join and scale up this automation effort.
The process in question has evolved bottom-up and organically over a number of years, resulting in a complex flowchart involving many manual steps. It involves several engineering software tools, including Mathcad, Autodesk Inventor, Ansys, MATLAB, in-house applications, as well as the obligatory Microsoft Word and Excel.
Experience with Python and surrounding ecosystem.
A record of UX focus.
Experience with some of the engineering tools listed above is a plus, but can be substituted with an ability to research and quickly familiarize oneself with new technologies.
Some familiarity with structural / mechanical engineering or similar can come in handy to facilitate communication, but is not absolutely required.
